New Release: The Vagrant by Bryan Hall

Today we're releasing The Vagrant by Bryan Hall. It's the novelette beginning of The Southern Hauntings Saga. The Saga centers around main character Creighton "Crate" Northgate. Crate is a man haunted by his past, his present, and staring at an uncertain future. He has a gift, or curse depending on how you look at it; he can see the dead. He travels around the country, but mostly in the south, helping folks with paranormal problems, taking on things that most of us can't see, and probably don't believe in. Crate is a compelling character, as are the folks he tries to help. Hall's stories are creepy and intense, with subtle undertones for those who look for them.  Read one story in the Saga, and I guarantee you'll come back for more.
Bryan has also set up a website centering on Crate Northgate. It's a good place to kill the time between stories. If you haven't yet, I suggest you check it out.

The first book, The Vagrant, is available on and will soon be up on At only 99 cents, how can you resist? Check it out and see what all the fuss is about.

Book Blurb:

Creighton Northgate is a man shrouded in mystery and on the run from a past he doesn't even fully understand. Blurring the lines between vagabond, enigma, drunkard, and savior, he spends his days staring into the southern legends and paranormal events that most only speak of in hushed, half-believing whispers.

In the midst of a sweltering southern day, he attempts to help a homeless man who seems to share his curse; a man haunted by a silent figure from beyond this world who pursues his every step. By the end of the day, Crate discovers that some things are best left alone; some truths best left in the dark.

This novelette serves as an introduction to the Southern Hauntings Saga and its central character Crate Northgate, a man whose shadowy past is slowly catching up to him. The first novella in the series will be released late summer 2012.
