I discovered Bryan Hall through one of my favorite small
presses...he has a style that I enjoy and vowed to keep an eye on. "The
Vagrant" is the kickoff to his Southern Haunting series. If this is any
indication...I will be setting aside some quality time for Mr. Hall.
While this is only a short story intended to introduce the reader to the central protagonist, Crate, there is the depth I now expect from this author. Don't expect it to be a quick and casual read. There is a great deal taking place and you might miss the subtle intricacies is you try to just speed through.
