Grace Mahoney makes my Woman in Horror list for multiple reasons. She is a poet, short story writer, flash fiction author, and Editor and Publisher of Vamplit Publishing. She prefers to think of herself mainly as the latter, but I do enjoy her dark poetry and other writings. In particular, she has a young lady named Sadie who winds up in a lot of hot water throughout her tales. Poor Sadie.
I suggest you go to the Vamplit Blog and read Grace's works and check out the other fine authors and contributors as well. This blog is set up well and has sooo much to offer.
Below is a little description of Grace's collection of poetry The Dancing Dead, which is available on Smashwords for FREE. Tres cool!
The Dancing Dead is a collect of vampire poems written over a number of years. This collection of poetry is not intended to be dark and uses the vampire as a metaphor for modern life. Lady Dracula is actually a response to the banking crisis and many of the poems have feminist themes.
I don't care what the above says: some of these poems are DARK.
Go to Grace's site and find out what her other name is. Ha, ha! I'm not telling here.
